Investing in our Patients

With Advanced Technology

The state of healthcare is changing dramatically with the advancement of technology that allows eye doctors to see more, detect disease pathologies earlier, and provide advanced treatment. Our passion for providing the highest level of patient care possible has driven us to invest heavily in some of the most sophisticated equipment available for the detection and treatment of eye disease and ocular conditions. As a specialty practice, we work with some of the most complicated cases, and our technology difference enables our eye doctors to help our patients in ways that are not possible at offices that lack this technology. In the past few years, so many new technologies have been developed that can not only diagnose vision-threatening conditions but also treat and manage them. Here are some of the technologies available at Amplify EyeCare Santa Clarita.

Triton-2

Optical Coherence Tomography (OCT)

This noninvasive imaging method can diagnose and manage diseases such as diabetes-related retinopathy and glaucoma. OCT is also quite useful in the assessment of subretinal fluid, neurosensory detachments, pigment-epithelial detachments, and choroidal neovascular membranes. Utilization of OCT imaging as a pre and post surgical assessment tool can provide invaluable information in the surgical management of macular holes and retinal detachments. OCT can provide visualization of surgical outcomes, confirming reattachment and normal contour.

Triton-2

Retinal Camera

Digital Retinal Photography is a new technology that represents the latest in eye disease detection. It allows us to more thoroughly evaluate your retina, the sensitive tissue in your eye that is responsible for vision. The retina is susceptible to a variety of diseases, which can lead to vision loss. Digital Retinal Photography gives us a more comprehensive way of viewing your eyes than was previously available and allows us to perform a more thorough exam. As it adds to our ability to evaluate the health of your eyes, it is especially important if you have headaches, spots or flashes, a family history of glaucoma, diabetes or macular degeneration, high blood pressure, elevated cholesterol, or arthritis.

Triton-2

Corneal Topographer

Corneal topography is a  means of mapping the front surface of the  cornea (front window). Evaluating the surface curvature of the cornea is critical in determining your quality of vision because the cornea is responsible for approximately 70% of the eye’s visual activities. Corneal topography provides an eye doctor a three-dimensional map of the cornea or high and low surface of the eye, which can assist in:

  • Planning LASIK or other refractive surgeries
  • Diagnosis and treatment of various conditions of the eye
  • Fitting contact lenses
  • Screening for keratoconus and determining its severity (see caveat below)
  • Evaluating astigmatism
  • Planning of suture removal for a patient who has had corneal transplant.
Triton-2

Sightsync

This test determines whether a patient can fixate on a target at a distance and up close, as well as how accurate their eye alignment is. A neurolens specialty lens is customized specifically for you based on your SightSync measurement, removing the constant tension on your visual system and reducing eye strain.

Triton-2

Visual Field Test

Visual field testing is a crucial element of a medical eye exam. It is used to identify changes in peripheral or central vision that may not be apparent to the patient. One of the main purposes of visual field testing is to detect signs of optic nerve damage caused by glaucoma. In addition, visual field tests can be used to diagnose retinal diseases, eyelid conditions such as ptosis or drooping, optic nerve disorders such as optic neuritis, and brain diseases that impact the visual pathways. The visual pathways in the brain are responsible for processing visual information from the front of the eye.

Labarge Electro Therapist

We are proud to have invested in advanced technology that allows our eye doctors to offer advanced care to patients in Santa Clarita and nearby areas. One such tool is the Labarge Electrotherapist, which is a useful instrument for developing eye-hand coordination skills. It is also enjoyable to use.

Triton-2

Visual Evoked Potential (VEP)

A visual evoked potential is a non-invasive test used by our eye doctors to measure the response of the brain to visual information. We use the VEP test at Amplify EyeCare Santa Clarita to have a deeper understanding of the visual system and to identify mechanical or neurological obstructions to the visual process. It is often used to diagnose vision problems and neurological disorders, such as multiple sclerosis and brain tumors.

Our Technologies

Ocular Coherence Tomography
Optical coherence tomography (OCT) scans are important for establishing early diagnoses for many serious eye diseases. Learn why we have invested in advanced technology for the care of your eyes and vision.
Pre-Testing Corneal Topography
Corneal topography is a useful pre-operative test that maps the front surface of the eye, which is the cornea and the cornea is the window of the eye. Learn why we have invested in advanced technology for the care of your eyes and vision.
SightSync
SightSync is a cutting edge technology for measuring eye alignment at close range as well as at distance. Not only does it map out the eye alignment, but it also records that so we can show our patients how their eyes work. Learn why we have invested in advanced technology for the care of your eyes and vision.
Retinal Camera / Fundus Camera
Fundus camera is a quick, noninvasive technology that allows eye doctors and other healthcare providers to diagnose diseases and determine the health of the retina. Learn why we have invested in advanced technology for the care of your eyes and vision.
Visual Field Test
A visual field test is a method of detecting central or peripheral retinal diseases, eyelid conditions, optic nerve diseases, and diseases affecting the visual pathways within the brain.
Labarge Electro Therapist
We are proud to have invested in advanced technology that enables our eye doctors to provide advanced care to patients in CITY and the surrounding communities. Labarge Electrotherapist is a fun instrument to work with. It functions as an instrument to develop skills that enable training for eye-hand coordination.
Visual Evoked Potential (VEP)
We have invested in an advanced technology called Visual Evoked Potential (VEP) that allows our eye doctors to diagnose vision problems and neurological disorders.
